Does the ';furminator'; shampoo products really work? I have the brush which works really well. My basset sheds!

The shampoo may work, but you must use it with the furminator brush. My fav shampoo system for shedding dogs is Best shot.

It has a lot of silk protiens, that soften the hair, and make it easier to brush out.

Brushing helps with shedding as we all know, but using an HV dryer to blow out the dead hair works even better !! I you don't have a High Velocity dryer, try using the blowing part of a shop vac. Clean the vac first, or you will blow dirty air on your fresh clean dog. You want the air as close to the skins as possible, maybe 1/2 inch. You want to dry in the opposite direction of the hair growth. This will lift the hair and help blow out the dead hair.Does the ';furminator'; shampoo products really work? It does work, but nothing beats a daily brushing, especially if you have a dog that sheds frequently. You might look into getting a shampoo that helps make your dog's coat and skin healthy and reduce shedding, there are plenty of dog shampoos like that on the market. Don't forget about skin and coat supplements, especially those rich in avocado and fish oil, those really benefit the health of your dog's skin and coat.Does the ';furminator'; shampoo products really work? my boss had it done on her golden retriever and she said it helped for the first month, but that was all. It was back to normal after a month.
