I have previously dyed my hair a lot , use various products and lots of heat while styling . This shampoo and conditioner is AMASING !

It leaves my hair really smooth and glossy and tames my frizz .

( I have dark brown hair a little shorter than the girl in the adverts)

Only thing is Head%26amp;Shoulders is known to wash out your colour if you dye it but it really does give good results quick .HEAD AND SHOULDERS DAMAGE RESCUE SHAMPOO - PRODUCT REVIEW?

What's the best shampoo / hair product for thick, wavy/curly hair?

I have thick wavy / kind of curly hair that tends to frizz. What's a good shampoo / conditioner / hair product in general that will define curls, reduce poof, and manage frizz?

I don't care how expensive, just as long as it works.

Nothing cheap, either. I went through so many of those $3 shampoos that do nothing for my hair. What's the best shampoo / hair product for thick, wavy/curly hair?
My hair is the same way... I use Catwalk curls rock shampoo and conditioner. It works great. To make sure I dont loose my curls I dont brush it. I shampoo condition then towel dry and I add the catwalk leave in conditioner to protect my hair the finish it off by crunching some catwalk curl amplifier and just let it air dry. Frizz is no longer a preoblem and it only takes like 2 minutes to have great hair! I tried redken curls and i didnt get as much definition as i do with catwalk. I also tried ABBA and it also dosnt give me definition and there is some frizz... but, abba has this curl reactor and it works well. you just need a few sprits and your ready! good luckWhat's the best shampoo / hair product for thick, wavy/curly hair?
try looking on http://www.makeupalley.com for reviews of shampoos. Also please specify if your hair is dry, oily or normal.

If price is no object look around on http://www.sephora.com they have all kinds of great hair products. You can also look on http://www.hairbotique.com
Redken makes a great line for curly/wavy hair. It's called Fresh Curls. Not too expensive either.

I had a perm once and I tried a bunch of stuff - even frizz ease. Redken worked the best.
My hair is curly, and thick, and i use Sunsilk [ the purple / lilac one] i cant remember the name. But it does straighten it better than any other shampoo when you blow dry your hair.

What is a good shampoo/conditioner/product which will make all my flyaways and split ends lie flat?

I have thick dark brown slightly wavy hair and whenever i wear my hair out those stands of hair that a for some reason shorter and my split ends just fuzz out and stick our making my hair look frizzy when the rest of it isn't!What is a good shampoo/conditioner/product which will make all my flyaways and split ends lie flat?
I've got the same problem you do, and I went to this store called ULTA. It's like a makeup/perfume/haircare/nail, hair salon/etc. I asked the ladies there what ptoducts might help me out, and they told me Redkin Hair Repair, Kpak by Joico, and a few other really pricy things would work.

I didn't buy any of those things though, because it all costs waaaaaaay too much. However, I did purchase this stuff called Cholesterol, which is supposed to repair damaged hair. I got Pantene ProV's new revitalizing shampoo and conditioner, and I bought a deep conditioner called Biolage by Matrix. It was one of those salon products, but it was way cheaper than the other crap they were trying to push.

All of this stuff has really worked on repairing my split ends, and my frizz has diminished excessively. I'd say, you'd probably only need the pantene, though. Plus maybe an anti-frizz leave-in conditioner. What is a good shampoo/conditioner/product which will make all my flyaways and split ends lie flat?
Matrix Sleek.Look Smoothing Shampoo %26amp; Conditioner - I bought it at Beauty First, 2 1-Liter bottles for $30. It lasted me almost a year, so totally worth it, since they are more concentrated and you don't have to use as much as the shampoos and conditioners from the drugstore. Artec TextureLine Hair Mix is good for smoothing down frizzies and making your hair soft. The only way to remedy split ends is to get your hair trimmed every 6-8 weeks. There is no other way to fix them once they split. So keep that in mind too.
shampoo: pantene smooth and sleek shampoo

conditioner:pantene smooth and sleek conditioner

product: schwarzkopf serum
well ive used 'pantene silky soft' and it works really well! herbal essences is the most fragrant tho.

i suggest cutting all the split ends off...and try some gel or wet down the flyaways. it really works.
It depends on the type of shampoo your hair is compatible to but try using Herbal Essences Anti Frizz. It works for me and it smells really nice too.

Hope this helps

Aussie shampoo's and products. Are they any good?

I'm thinking of switching from Garnier Fructise shampoo to Aussie Sydney Smooth Shampoo. Do any of you use it? Does it work well? I have super thickkk wavy and frizzy hair. I'm just looking for something that will tame my hair. I've straightened my hair a ton but I am sick of drying out my hair and spending an hour straightening it everynight. So I need something that will get rid of all this retarded frizz in my hair=] All suggestions are lovedd. Thanks in advance everyonee=DAussie shampoo's and products. Are they any good?
they are pretty good

i used there three minute miracle product and it made my dry hair so much smoother nad split end free :]\

plus there hairspray smells really good :]Aussie shampoo's and products. Are they any good?
I actually love aussie. It made my hair silky and smooth I stopped though because my hair dresser said its really bad for your hair. Id you don't care about that though go for it i loved it and it really makes your hair silky and nice.
I love aussie! the smell of it is great too, garnier was good but for colored hair it works awesome, but for u aussie will work great its a good product, and make sure u use a hair gloss or hair creme before u straighten or blow dry
I have the SAME hair you do, and i LOVE LOVE LOVE SunSilk....try that, Aussie never worked well on mine, it actually dried it out. Use SunSilk or Herbal Essence, they both work well on my hair.
Ive tried both and aussie works just as good as garnier but i just tried an infusium brand shampoo and conditioner for my frizzy hair and it works really well! It comes in a dark silver bottle!
when i used aussie products for my hair it made my face break out, and then whn i stopped using it, my face was clear.
John Freida products are WONDERFUL for frizz =)
The shampoo is good. It smells nice, too. I've used it before. But, what I usually do is stalk up on shampoos that are on sale. I find they all do pretty much the same thing - just clean. The conditionners soften the hair. I like to keep it in for a long time, so, I apply conditionner, then I wash my body with soap, and when I'm finished soaping, I rinse the soap, and finally, I rinse out the conditionner. That leaves my hair straight, soft, and more manageable.

Besides using shampoo, what other hair products can I use to stop dandruff or flakes?

Dandruff is one of the major disorders of the scalp.Poor hygiene, improper diet ,sluggish condition of the scalp caused by poor blood circulation are the main causes of dandruff. A herbal rinse is a safe method of removing dandruff. Apply lemon juice with the rind on the scalp .After 5 minutes wash off with shampoo and water. there is this llike thing called hask or something you can get at sallys beauty stores it is a liquid that you put on after you shower without riceing and it helps stop dandruffBesides using shampoo, what other hair products can I use to stop dandruff or flakes?
My dermatologist prescribed me a saline type solution that really helps. If you have insurance, ask your doctor.

actually good smelling stuff (and from wal mart lol) would be great.Really flat thin hair. need CHEAP shampoo %26amp; styling products specifically for volume. like extreme volume?
first use volumizing shampoo like target volumizing shampoo for $2, then blowdry your hair upside down. after that, give it a little tease at the crown or all over for mega volume. here's a link on how to tease:

http://www.ehow.com/how_2202594_tease-ba...Really flat thin hair. need CHEAP shampoo %26amp; styling products specifically for volume. like extreme volume?
Aussie Shampoo is the BEST!!! Put some ROO in that DO!!
I use this stuff called ';got 2 be'; or something like that. I use the ';got 2 be sexy volumizer'; in the pink metal can. I got it for like 4-5 bucks at my local grocery store. I get lotsa compliments when I use it and my hair is already thick. hope this helps!
Wax, a light gel, palmanade, mousse, light hair spray before you blow dry it with your head upside down. Brushing your hair so it doesn't tangle. Scrunching it with your fingers. When you flip your head back up go through it with a pick and not a brush or a comb.
REALLY cheap products won't be able to do as much for you as the expensive, salon-style shampoos.

I would recommend pantene volume shampoo and the conditioner. Just because I like pantene and it smells pretty good ;) works for me.
I use herbal essences or the aussie shampoo and conditioner. I also use this stuff.. it's volumizing creme.. I think it's sunsilk, it comes in a yellow bottle at walmart.. After I shower, I put it in my hair and then blowdry... And all of this stuff is from walmart. My hair's pretty straight and flat if I don't use volumizing stuff, too..

    hi :)

well i constantly straighten or curl my hair and this leaves my hair really dry and with tons of split ends. so i decided to switch to pantene pro-v which has made my hair SO much healthier looking and i go:

    shampoo

    shampoo again

    condition

its really good you should try it

I HATE Pantene Volume Shampoo. I have such thin hair and I'm always trying new shampoos. The one I've found to work the best is

Infusium 23 Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner. It smells great and it works even better!

Hope this helps!Do Pantene Volume Shampoo %26amp; Conditioner work? What are other good volume products?
I guess the actual answer is that it will depend on your hair. Personally, I've had great success with them. I have very long, fine, super-straight, limp, blonde hair. I use the Pantene Volume Maximizer Shampoo and Conditioner fairly regularly. When I use it, my hair has noticeably more body to it, and a little bit of a wave, as well.

As far as other products for volume, I haven't had any success with any of the ones I've tried. However, using a shampoo that is designed to create curls helps to give my hair a greater body and a distinct wave, although my hair does not actually curl.

    I hope this is helpful!
    heres some tips,

    1. blow dry ur hair crazy style e.g flip ur hair around and jump lyk a crazy rock star.

    2. spray volumising hairspray and ruffle up ur 'do (while its semi wet)

    3. part ur hair o the right side in the morning and change sides later in the day to create the illusion of volume

Aveda makes a fabulous new line of men's hair care.

It's a bit more expensive but WORKS.

    It's definitely worth it.

I use Aveda Smooth Infusion because I have dryness problems with my hair in it works like a charm. But for greasy hair, you want something that is high in sodium ingredients because this will strip away excess oils. Check out their new men's line. It's the best.

Does anyone know of a good shampoo or product that tames flyaways?

I have a lot of flyaways, and I want to know what will help me tame them so my hair looks nicer.Does anyone know of a good shampoo or product that tames flyaways?
    Hi Becca.

Stick to using your normal shampoo and conditioner, after washing apply some frizz serum (i.e John Frida's Frizz-Ease) to help tame them.

Do you want to know my top flyaway styling tip? With some hairspray, spray it on the tips of your finger tips, run fingers through your hair this will catch flyaways, and give you the look you want.

You cant really tame flyaways, its all about the products you use.

I hope this helps :-)Does anyone know of a good shampoo or product that tames flyaways?
Dont go out and buy anything expensive.

First: Purchase a mild Shampoo (To Clarify hair, I will explain why)

Second: TRIM your hair ends (May 1 1/2 to 2 inches) (Dont cut)

Third: Here's the magic part: Mix olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, avocado oil and a ';little'; honey, (honey u will have to heat so it can blend). Either leave on ALL day or all night (if all nite, DONT use honey)

Repeat this 3-4 times a week, your hair will grow like a weed. I promise.

The clairifying shampoo will help take the oil off your hair when u shower

You can find olive oil anywere, but the other oils you will have to buy at a local organics store, wholes foods or BJ's health corner.

This might sound really strange, but try using Mane N' Tail shampoo for horses. It's in the pet section at Wal-Mart. All the women in my family use it and it works for us! Oh and we aren't big weirdo's or hippies or anything..... ;)Do you know of any shampoo or product to make my hair grow?
If you are looking for your hair to grow faster. Prenatal Vitamins should do the trick and they will also help your nails grow too.
take hair vitamins! they make your hair stronger, thicker, and grows faster.

    goodluck!!:)
I have heard that viamin E is what does the trick. Or ask your OB/GYN for pre-natal vitamins, those work great for hair and nails.
There is a vitamin called Biotin that helps with hair growth. If you are losing more than 100 strands of hair a day it might be good to get your thyroid checked. Have an over or under active thyroid causes hair to fall out and become dry and brittle.
use tresemme moisture rich it has vitamin E in which is really good for the hair and the condititor
There is a BRILLIANT product range available called 'Nourkin' it is available for sure in the UK, not so sure anywhere else but you could get it online. There are shampoos, conditioners, and vitamin pills that really work. I work in a pharmacy and we sell so much of it, people swear by it. It is very good.
Surprisingly, baby shampoo is the way to go.

It doesnt have that many chemicals so you're hair doesnt fall out.

Fructis Length and Strength may help. :)

Also make sure to massage your scalp when you shampoo...it stimulates growth as well.

Good luck! What is the best shampoo/hair product for faster hair growth?
Hair grows between 1/4 and 1/2 inch per month, and there is not much you can do to accelerate it. The biggest thing is treating your hair right so that I grows optimally fast. I recommend following these tips: http://www.ehow.com/how_2277187_hair-grow-faster.html to make sure you are on track. Additionally, you can try hair-growth products, which I have found do work in doubling your hair growth if you get the one. Try the ones listed in the article above.

I love to straighten my hair.... but you need to lay off a little!

Try straightening it every OTHER day!

I also use the Tresseme stuff..... but it doesn't work!! I use CHI 44 Iron Guard! It smells like Hollister (HaHa) and protects your hair soooo good! It also makes your hair soft and shiny! You can get it at certain hair salons, malls, and folica.com!

Try getting a deep hydrating hair mask! I use Garnier Fructise! But the trick is, put it on DRY hair! Leave it on for about 3 to 4 minutes and rinse it out! Putting it on dry hair lets it soak in more!
aussi leave in conditioner '3 minute miracle'; seems to work pretty good but it depends where your living because i lived in Washington state and it was great but i moved to Virginia and used it and it didn't work as well
your problem isnt your shampoo and conditioner.

I developed hair care and skin care products for over 25 years, around the globe, large and small, retail and salon. I'm retired and I did not work in HE. There is too much hype and misinformation in the system.

As one person noted, Pantene is also a very good choice but a little more expensive. They offer a few more treatment choices, for example if you want to emphasize thickness.

You would probably benefit from rotating your shampoo for a week after you finish a bottle of HE. Maybe buy a very small bottle of Pantene or use another family members shampoo for a week. Then go back to your favorite shampoo. Enjoy your shampoo, guilt free.
you would never get long term good results with cheap drugstore products, the secret with professional shampoos and conditioners is that they contain the best ingredients that are gentle on hair. My suggestions are L'oreal, neutrogena, keune etc.

    DONT BUY PANTENE.

that lady obviously doesnt know what shes talking about, she didnt even spell the brand name right.

Pantene tests on animals. Enough said. and besides it dries out your hair.
Pantine is really the best line of shampoos and conditioners to go with.

Trust me, they do what they say..

    Hope I could help.

    Best products&shampoo for curly hair?

i have curly hair and i want to know what products are the best for it? and what shampoo and conditioner would work best for my hair?

i want to pay no more $7. as i only can shop at drug stores in my hometown. and my hair goes a little dry in the summer, so what product would work for that as well?

    thanks!Best products%26amp;shampoo for curly hair?
I agree with the other poster that using just conditioner is very good.

A really good one is Aveeno Nourish. It does not have sulfates in it. Sulfates send to be drying. So shampoos like aveeno nourish are good for curly hair. It costs less than $7 a bottle (about $5 at walmart).Best products%26amp;shampoo for curly hair?
Actually, I've found it's more manageable to wash my hair with just conditioner and no shampoo at all. Because curly hair is more delicate and tends to be drier than straight hair, the extra moisture and lack of detergent helps the curls to stay together and not frizz or look messy. Because the conditioner actually stays on your hair (unlike shampoo), it's worth paying a bit more for it. John Frieda's color-specific conditioners work really nicely.

As for other products, L'Oreal has a curl smoothing cream that, if you run it through your hair when it's still pretty wet, will keep the curls really nicely free of frizziness. With that stuff, I haven't had a bit of trouble with humidity.
herbal essence has this purple shampoo %26amp; conditioner combo ( which smells amazing) which works well for my hair.

i also use some slightly warm coconut oil to massage my hair, and leave on the oil for an hour or so before taking bath.

(hats like a pre conditioning treatment, and this provides extra oil to your hair which can replace the natural oils stripped away by the shampoo. )

i think you can use other oils too...almond and olive are also used ( i use coconut)

if u can dont wash your hair everyday, your hair tends to be a bit more settled useful for formal functions.

and leaving your conditioner on for around for 15mins instead of the customary 3 mins also helps.

    hope i helped :)
I don't know what type of hair you have but I'm Latina and this girls advices have work really good for me even though is suppose to be for bi racial hair. And is very affordable!

  • What shampoos or products can I use to relieve my dry & itchy scalp?

I have a really dry scalp. I've had eczema since I was a child. Sometimes when it's windy or cold out and my hair is a bit damp it hurts my scalp. I've tried Neutrogena, but it hurts. I'm looking for a gentle product for sensitive scalps. Any suggestions? What shampoos or products can I use to relieve my dry %26amp; itchy scalp?
Neutrogena has a new formula of T-Gel out now that is supposed to be a little milder and you can use it everyday. It doesn't have the tar smell which can be irritating. There is a product over the counter called Scalpicin that is used for eczema, you may want to try it. Of course, a dermatologist can give you a prescription shampoo and/or scalp lotion to use for eczema. Good luckWhat shampoos or products can I use to relieve my dry %26amp; itchy scalp?
Head %26amp; Shoulders or EXACT, -- a non-brand name shampoo with EXACTLY the same ingredient for one third the price. Take Vitamin A, C and E every day so you regenerate new skin cells. Wash your hair often to rid it of old skin cells and bacteria that cause itch and flaking. Report Abuse

Try tea tree shampoo by Paul Mitchell- get it at your hair salon.Better yet ask the hairdresser, she went to school for it and it doesn't cost anything to ask.
I have used my product for two years it is the best i have found.

It is designed to be very gentle on your scalp.

Has anyone else ever had this problem with ';Herbal Essences'; shampoo products?

So I use Herbal Essences shampoo and conditioner and I have been using it for quite a while.

I use the ';Totally Twisted'; Shampoo:http://www.herbalessences.com/us/collect鈥?/a>

    and the ';Hello Hydration'; Conditioner.

But I've noticed that after I use these my hair kind of bleaches all my towels and discolors them. And I'm thinking that if it's the conditioner or shampoo bleaching my towels...then it's probably not good for my hair.

Anyone else had this problem? Should I get another Shampoo/Conditioner immediately?Has anyone else ever had this problem with ';Herbal Essences'; shampoo products?
never had that problem... have you had your hair dyed?permed?

I would try JUST using the shampoo once, and then JUST using the conditioner another time. And try to find out which one is causing the problem.

What shampoos/haircare products help reduce frizzy/poofy hair?

I have longish hair thats naturally curly, but it frizzes alot and it's always poofy. Any shampoos that work especially well? What shampoos/haircare products help reduce frizzy/poofy hair?
If you want to run out and pick something up locally, I recommend trying Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose Condish (semi-cheap but super moisturizing, found at organics/specialty stores); red Cream of Nature shampoo (drugstore again); LA Looks or Herbal essences gels (drugstore); Biotera gel and cream (Sally's Beauty Supply); Suave Naturals/vo5 conditioners (really cheap); and L'oreal out of bed weightless texturizer (black tub, use under gel). These are all good things to try, and be sure to tinker around with amounts and how you use any products.

For specific products for your hair type you might also want to explore the forums at:

    http://www.naturallycurly.com/curltalk/

There you can find others with the same hair type and try out some of their favorite products, but the most popular ones are usually only available online.

Here are some basic tips for curly hair that you might find helpful:

*Try to find a stylist who knows how to work with curly hair. You can find ratings by region here: http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlsalons

    *Don't shampoo every day.

*Comb conditioner through hair in the shower.

*Never use a brush on dry hair, only untangle when the hair is wet.

*Apply styling products to dripping wet hair. Scrunch or twirl hair to achieve desired shape.

*Use styling products suited for your hair type. Don’t know yours? http://www.naturallycurly.com/hair-types

*Avoid terrycloth towels; use linen, paper towels, or t-shirts instead.

*Air dry or use a diffuser with your blowdryer.

*Don't touch (or brush!) your hair while it’s drying.

*Once dry scrunch out any crunchy texture.

Lastly, it has made my hair so much better since I started the curly girl method! I used to almost never wear it down (it was a frizz/poof ball), but now I have pretty, shiny curls. ~:) It’s pretty radical—no sulfates (shampoo) or silicones—but it’s so great for curly hair. you should look at conditioners more than shampoos! Because they give your hair moisture and straightening you hair drys it out which is what makes it damaged

So yeah get a good conditioner... tresemme works well if you get the moisture lock one

or if you want to spend a bit more money then bed head have loads of products that moisturise your hair

you should also look to get some heat defence spray

you can get that pretty much anywhere

also you could but a deep nourishment mask that you use once a week or so that nourishes your hair more intensely

Do you think that tresemme makes a good brand of hair products??? Shampoo, conditioner, styling products etc??

Good value of money???Do you think that tresemme makes a good brand of hair products??? Shampoo, conditioner, styling products etc??
I love tresemme! All my hair products are by them. They're amazing. Although they are quite prcey, I definetly think that you're getting what you paid for, because it has such good quality, and makes your hair look absoloutely amazing. I have very curly hair, and ever so often struggle with the frizziness that comes with it, but since I started using Tresemme, my hair has kept to its soft and natural curls, leaving no frizz!Do you think that tresemme makes a good brand of hair products??? Shampoo, conditioner, styling products etc??
I think they are good value for your money, you get a lot and I think the product is above avereage in performance compared to other similarly priced shampoos etc. and it smells really nice.

    I would use it again!
NO. They brag up their product, but when I tried it on my long hair, it made it feel all hard and plastic-y, yuck. I also hated the smell. I was disappointed for sure.
    yes their stuf is great
    Depends on your hair hunny
    over rated, rubbish.

i'm a hairdresser, i go to 4 different hair suppliers to get stuff i need...and not 1 of them stocks tresemme.

';salon quality'; - right i have NEVER seen a salon using them, ever. most salons are using TIGI, Paul Mitchell, Fudge, Matrix, L'oreal, Wella...no tresemme.
Hell no. Try aveda, serisouly. Works magic.
If you want to pay $25-$40 for Aveda, TiGi, Big Sexy Hair or any of those other ';salon'; products, go ahead. But there have been studies that show that drug store hair products are just as good as salon. (Just like drug store cosmetics vs. department store cosmetics.)

I just bought the Tresemme Big Boost Root Lifter and I love it. I have very fine, thin hair. I just spray it on and bend over at the waist to blow dry my hair and it looks great! The other thing I like about it is that the next morning when I wake up, my hair doesnt feel all greasy and gross from hair product. With other products, it felt that way but with the Tresemme, my hair still feels clean the next morning.

    Hope this helps!

Can anyone recommend a shampoo for product build up? I like to use a lot of hairspray and gel, and now I have build up. Does anyone have a shampoo or something else they use for this problem? Can anyone recommend a shampoo for product build up?
Yup. Herbal Essences Squeaky Clean Shampoo works great and smells nice. Also if you don't want to spend too much money, you can use your regualr shampoo and then sprinkle in about two tablespoons of baking soda, wash your hair then wash it again, then use conditioner. Trust me it works, I use alot of product too.Can anyone recommend a shampoo for product build up?
get any clarifying shampoo. Honestly, brand doesn't mean a whole lot here. Suave is just as good as anything else (maybe even better). The only thing you have to worry about is if you have dyed your hair. Many clarifying shampoos aren't meant for dyed hair, and will make it fade faster.

Remember, unless it says ';Daily Clarifying'; on the bottle, it's only meant to be used about once or twice a week. Using regular clarifying shampoo every day isn't good for it.
Suave works really well and it doesn't smell alll gross and perfume-y. I use the smoothing kind bu they also have a buch of ones that de-frizz, make it curly, condition it, make it grow longer... u get the picture. Also it makes your hair really healthy! its really good price so dont waste money on other expensive brands! you can get it at target, walmart, rite-aid...
what u can do is use a replenishing shampoo to remove the build up(like, deep cleansing) or add baking soda to ur ordinary shampoo and leave the shampoo on for about 20 mins and massage in thoroughly.
Ion Crystal Clarifying Treatment is really good!

Comparing Aveda color conserve with Suave color saver, I prefer Suave. Even the hairstylist thought it worked better the month I used suave, before I told her my experiment ;) I also prefer the suave smell.

Don't waste your money on the salon shampoo, other things will get your hair as clean and manageable. You just need to find the right shampoo/conditioner/styling products for you.Hair products: shampoo and conditioner?
hi u know buying expensive shampoo from a salon is not worth it u know i would like to tell have you ever tried dove shampoo its is one off the best products so try that and dont spend money on hair salon products.......
    Pantene Pro-V 2 in 1...
It doesn't matter whether it's expensive or cheap.

Really depends on your hair type. Try getting small trial pack to see which brand works best for your hair.
    they both work well
It makes a difference. BUT I don't think it makes such a huge difference that you should break your budget. If you can, try to find someone with a cosmetology license who will give you the products at their cost. Salons (yes even Sally's) mark their product up a lot for the general public.
Price is not the largest factor in selecting your shampoo and conditioner. Rather, you need to try a few brands and find the one that fits your hair. Find one that you like depending on if you color your hair, have dry or oily hair, etc. Each shampoo is different. You will find one that works for you and will be very happy.
The extra money for the expensive one is you pay for the brand name. the chemical ingredient is still the same. dont be fooled around
I have used Pert Plus ever since I remember but last time I got my hair cut I bought the Tea Tree stuff and it works great.

It sucks spending the money on it but my wife liked it so I will be buying it again.
Yes of course they work as well. Herbal Essence, Garnier Fructise, and White rain all work really well. Good luck, hope i helped and best of wishes!!! :D

Hair is FRIED, I lost my curls, what shampoo/products to use to make it come back?

Long story short i used to have gorgeous banana spiral curls naturally. after dying my hair one too many times and after the most recent blonde highlights the bleach killed my hair. it does not curl anymore but is gross, frizzy, and unmanageable. i'm taking vitamins and biotene to encourage growth but i hear it will only be curly again once all the highlights grow out.

redkens 'all soft' line is amazing. it brought my damaged highlighted hair back to life.and made it super shiny and soft. if your hair is naturally curly, it should grow back that way. but the all soft will definitly help it be more manageable and healthy until then.

Its not dead. Just uncared for. Your poor hair!

leave it alone! Be natural :]
I'm pretty sure that strait, curly, fine, thick, or wavy hair depends on the actual shape of the shaft of hair. Your hair will not forget because it's biological. Flat strands result in curly hair, round result in strait etc. Your born with the way your hair will always be. So, once it grows out your back in business. I don't have curly hair so I can't give any useful advice. Sorry.
Shampoo and Conditner I recomend Joico K-pak

honey, your hair is dead cells. It has been dead. Try and get pantene conditioner. It works for me, it really depends on what will work on you. Try some Suave anti-friz hair stuff, too.
Yeah.... hair IS dead. Some just have better dead hair than others. Once it leaves the scalp, it's dead.

If you go to a local salon, or a local beauty supply, they will have great stuff. Plus, even grocery stores that sell hair shampoos and conditioners have a section where they sell the great but expensive products. Target does.

The description on the hair product bottle should tell you if it's what you need. Otherwise if you go to a beauty supply place, or salon, ask someone there about what they'd recommend. They would recommend a product they sell.

Myth or not: Shampoos/Beauty products containing vitamins work as well as actually eating these nutrients?

    What do you think?

    Are ingredients in beauty products %26amp; shampoos really going to improve your skin if you only put them on the outside of the skin, as opposed to taking actually nutrients internally;

Example- some shampoos and face cremes contain things such as grapefruit extract and vitamin C.

    But

does this only help your skin or hair , if you actually eat a real grapefruit, or can you just put food products in shampoos and face cremes?Myth or not: Shampoos/Beauty products containing vitamins work as well as actually eating these nutrients?
Eating vitamins is better than just application of vitaminsMyth or not: Shampoos/Beauty products containing vitamins work as well as actually eating these nutrients?
Eating the nutrients has to be better for you in the long run. Remember, hair is dead already, so if you want it to be healthier to begin with you have to eat healthier. Putting things on the outside of your skin is good too, however, health begins from the inside out. If you truly want beautiful skin and hair, eat the foods, and use good beauty products. Use both and the package deal should come off quite nicely.
If applying things to your skin allowed you to absorb nutrients then when you went swimming water would soak in and you would drown.

Nioxen is the best for this.Know of any good shampoos or products for growing hair longer faster?
Pantene Pro V Beautiful Lengths should be good. It works because it prevents your hair from breakage and when your hair is breaking its harder for it to grow. It is available at drugstores. But remember that growing your hair takes time , no matter what product you use. Also it would be a good idea to use a leave in conditioning cream. I use Tresemme Restore leave in conditioning creme and i LOVE it ! :D I hope that i helped you and good luck with getting long hair!

average rate of hair loss is 100 hairs a day

this is normal but it is abnormal when you lose more than this

here are steps to take to stop hair falling

if you take external and internal steps as I have outlined

There are several ways to promote hair growth

    take vitamin C and B

Vitamin E And D are great for hair health

You need lots of vegetables and fruits

I dont know if its because im stressed out from school and work or if im going bald. I also have a fairly healthy diet so I dont think thats a problem. So do any kind hair products really work or are they just to get my money? and how would I know whether or not Im losing hair due to stress cause 18 seems really young to be loosing hair. Help!Does Rogaine or any Shampoo products work for hair thinning?
minoxidil (regaine, and also other brands) is the only topical medicine that has been scientifically proven to stop hair loss. There are many anti-hair loss shampoo around in the market that don't contain minoxidil. These shampoos have ingredients that ';nourish'; the hair follicles to stop thinning of hair and even prevent hair loss. However, their efficacy has not been proven.

Do those hair growth shampoos and products actually work?

My hair is a bit past my shoulders now and my goal is to grow it at least half way down my back .. Does anyone know from experience that those products on the market that claim to grow your hair quicker actually work? If so, what did/do you use?Do those hair growth shampoos and products actually work?
they dont actually make your hair longer or grow faster, they just make your hair healthy so you dont have to cut it as much so it grows out. i would suggest using the herbal essence long hair shampoo because it smells soooo good.Do those hair growth shampoos and products actually work?
I use Pantene Pro-V Beautiful Lengths and it strengthens your hair so it can grow longer but it doesn't actually make your hair grow it just helps it a little and yes it does work for me because my hair seems to be a lot stronger especially toward the ends and it has grown a lot since I started using it!
I don't think so. They just help you get less split ends which make your hair hard to grow.

What Shampoo/Hair products do you use?

What shampoo products make your hair grow faster?

My hair only grew 2-1/2 inches long and I last cut it 10 months ago. What are some good shampoo products that help speed up hair growth? What shampoo products make your hair grow faster?
a shampoo that makes your hair grow faster does not exist-and if they claim they do...they are lying.

you can try the pills that are suppose to make your hair and nails grow faster, but im not sure if those work either. What shampoo products make your hair grow faster?
I've never tried it myself, but I heard somewhere that if you hang your head upside and massage your scalp for 10 minutes everyday, your hair will grow a little faster because more circulation will be going to your head.

You should try and let me know if it works out for you!
    Try this website -

    http://www.flawlesscomplexion.com/
    DOO-GRO Products.

Try things with natural oils such as olive, tea extract, etc.

    This will nourish the hair.

Also consider trimming split ends every 8 weeks.

Keep stress off the hair, and sleep on satin pillowcases to prevent cotton breakage.
Garnier Fructis hair care products. They work extremely well.
Try lush new shampoo bar, it stimulates hair growth and I am happy with the results. Check the source for more information and review.
There isnt.. Well not that i know of..

I go to a hairdressing collage and there i learnt that your hair will only grow 1 - 1/2 inches long every 6 weeks. Maybe giving your head a massage when you wash it might work? Or eat healthy with alot of proteins and minerals.
You can't really speed up hair growth, but eating the right foods can help. Fish, protein and Vitamin D keep your hair healthy.

What is the best hair products, shampoos, and Vitamins for hair loss?

My hair is falling a lot, and I don't know what to use, please help me.What is the best hair products, shampoos, and Vitamins for hair loss?

Food rich in vitamin A, B, C, E, K, magnesium and zinc are important for healthy hair and also prevents hair loss. Hair is made up mostly of protein so a protein rich food is also recommended. Check out http://usefulinfo-hairloss.blogspot.com/ for more info.

What is the best hair products, shampoos, and Vitamins for hair loss?
It is normal to lose a certain number of hairs daily. If you are losing so much hair that your hair is getting thinner, probably you should see a dermatologist. Although there are a few conditions that can result in hair loss (like certain prescription drugs, malnutrition, or excessively tight braids), hair loss is mostly genetic. Vitamins and topically-applied products are a waste of money for hair loss. If you are so malnourished that you are losing your hair, you need to fix your diet, not take vitamins.
don't use petroleum based or mineral oil based hair products because they make your hair fall out. buy an intense moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, perhaps pantene pro-v for relaxed and natural hair.

And you should try Motions haircare products and Dr.Miracles.

Also massaging your scalp helps your hair grow and limit use of heat on hair cause it causes breakage. And don't use ponytails with metal on them because they tear your hair. Sleep with a satin pillow case because cotton ones suck the oil out of your hair and makes your hair dry.

    Hope i helped:)

    here is a link
This in not easy to solve question, which product is best for you it depends upon your hair condition.

Our scalp has some 100,000 hair, of which 80,000 are in the growing phase, while 20,000 inactive hair can be said to have gone in the sleeping phase. It is normal to lose roughly a 100 hair every day. Such a loss will not affect the total number of hair.

So a little hair falling is routine matter and not be stress due to this.
    i have the same problem

i purchased some shampoo and conditioner that contained chlie...it was a mexican product.

also vitamin b12 is good for hair.

    take prenative pills
Use colourtech vita 5 ultra gloss shampoo and conditioner its really good!!!!! try it hope this helps:)

    Shampoo Products Opinion?

I am going to Target soon and let me tell you a bit about my hair.

    1. Its Dry but not Damaged

    2. It get frizzy cause its curly so I straighten it.

    3. Itchy scalp, so yes dandruff problem, and I need to get rid of it.

I use garnier fructis moisture works shampoo and conditioner. Anti Humidity Spray. And surf hair paste to keep styles together. My only problem is the dandruff should I get Head and Shoulders or should I get the garnier fructis Anti-Dandruff 2 in 1?

Head Shoulders recommended the smooth and silky. I read the description and it will smooth my hair, make it silky, damage free, and dandruff free.

garnier Fructis, the anit-dandruff stuff just clears my head of dandruff. But I have the moisture works to do everything else.Shampoo Products Opinion?
    Well if i was you i would keep trying different companies and see which one makes my hair look and feel the finest. I've used three diffferent companies;

    - Aveda (it helpes my hair with the damaging and made my scalp feel moisterised)

    - Tresemme (they have a range of different ones i used the colour one but they do one for dandruff and frizz problems)

    - Paul Smith Super Straight (I have natually curly hair but this company helps it stay straighter)

    Hope This Helps.Shampoo Products Opinion?
never use a 2 in 1. from not only personal experience, but from reading this in magazines, and hearing from hair stylists, never use a 2 in 1 because shampoo and conditioner can never be combined together because one will block out the other. i would most defiantly go with the head and shoulders smooth and silky, but be sure to get one that is a shampoo, and one that is a conditioner, never a 2 in 1
for dandruff I suggest selsun blue

What shampoo or product lightens your hair?

I have highlights but i want to be more blonde and don't tell me about SUN IN spray please! What shampoo or product lightens your hair?
So SIlver by Matrix. Its 12.00 a bottle and it will last you a while. Dont use it everyday though because the shampoo itself is purple and it will stain your hair purple. It will definitely lighten your hair. i use it every few shampoos. You can get it at a salon..not sure about sallys though. What shampoo or product lightens your hair?
    There's no such thing!

There are shampoos that get rid of brassy tones which might make you look ';blonder'; but it isn't permanent or anything. There is one called shimmer lights by clairol.

And there is also another product called beyond the zone beach head blonde. It works the same as sun in.

You can get both at sally beauty supply.
    anything with peroxide in it

Shampoo/Products for oily hair and dandruff?

after a day after i shower my hair becomes oily and fine! I striaghten it too because if i dont then its a fizzy ball mess so any shampoo/products that will help with:

    **dandruff

    **oily hair

    *frizziness

    *fine hair

One stars are not as important. 2 stars are. They can be separate products (ex. one for dandruff one for oiliness one for fineness)

    no selson blue please

and they have to be inexpensive. Thanks! =DShampoo/Products for oily hair and dandruff?
head n shouldersShampoo/Products for oily hair and dandruff?
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. You should just wash your hair and brush it or go to a hair sulon and get it don nicley 4 just like10$.
well dandruff shampoo, there's head and shoulders. if you use a generous amount, it should last long enough to wash every other day.

to get rid of the frizziness, try an anti-frizz serum. garnier is pretty affordable and is reasonable in size.

for fine hair, i would try not to use hair products like hair spray or mousse b/c that damages hair after a while. it makes it brittle.
    how it is

Nuetrogena t-gel is good for dandruff and oiliness. The trick is to apply the shampoo to the scalp .Wash your hair as usual, then towel dry.Part the hair into sections and apply the shampoo directly onto the scalp let it sit on the head for about ten minutes then rinse and style as usual.

What's the best shampoo or product to give your hair volume?

I have thin, flat hair and I want to get some volume and shape into it.

What products have the best result? What's the best shampoo or product to give your hair volume?
Vo5 or Sunsilk will be good.

    try the volumising ones.

Or you could try blow drying your hair upside down. that will give volume. What's the best shampoo or product to give your hair volume?
U need to have a routine for ur hair like to use shampoo, conditioner, hair mask and hair lotion. use a shampoo that makes ur hair grow in volume, try Loreal paris non-stop Volume or Mane and tail, find the type that makes ur hair grow in volume and at the same time keeps it healthy and nice. u need to trim ur hair slightly once in two months, if only split ends appear and don't use anything that causes damage to ur hair such as alcohol hair products, hair dryers, chemicals etc. N U need to have a routine for ur hair like to use Loreal volume shampoo, conditioner, hair mask and hair lotion. make sure it does not get damaged while it is in the process of growing into the volume u wanted or else u would have to cut it and start growing it all over again. WASH UR HAIR IN COLD WATER AND WHEN DOING SO TILT UR HEAD BACKWARDS, this helps in good blood circulation as it moves the blood backwards from ur head top to ur neck. Wash ur hair like two to three times per week only so that minerals and vitamins and hair oils don't get deprived from ur hair.Good luck!
Aveda Pure Abundance is GREAT for giving flat hair gorgeous volume. Read about each product for their benefits and everything. At the bottom of the page go to 'find a location' to find an Aveda salon near you.

What are the best hair products, shampoo, conditioner, styling, etc.. for thick, dry hair?

The absolute best is a new brand just coming out called Organix. You'll be able to get it over the next few weeks at Kroger, Target, Albertsons, etc.

www.organixhair.comWhat are the best hair products, shampoo, conditioner, styling, etc.. for thick, dry hair?
Redken All soft shampoo and Conditioner. Use the Shampoo every other day but condition everyday. Its the Best!!! Only buy it at a beauty supply. What are the best hair products, shampoo, conditioner, styling, etc.. for thick, dry hair?
One of the biggest problems with thick hair is the associated itchy, flaky scalp. This is often caused by insufficient rinsing during the shampooing process, which can leave behind a residue of 'soap' on the scalp. Conditioner (which seals down the outside of the hair making it smooth and easy to comb) will then seal any remaining 'soap' to your scalp. Simply rinse for longer.

If you ever suffer from a dry flaky scalp, it is not recommend to use a ';2 in 1'; type of product as we feel that these build up in your hair because there is no rinse in between.
i swear by timotei for all hair! but thats just my opinion :-)
any product you can buy in a salon will be the best......make sure you look for specifics like ........deep conditioning..............you can also use hot oil treatments to help your dry hair......vo5 worked good for me......good luck!!
My daughter has that kind of hair and the best thing I think is the leave in conditioners for dry hair.

I don't really have a good answer, but there was a lady on Oprah who did the same thing. Maybe you can find info on Oprah's web on how to get in touch with that lady.I want to make and sell body care products including deodorant, shampoo, %26amp; lotions. Do I need a license?
Highly regulated (Federal) business. Do plenty of reasearch on FDA regulations. Law suits everywhere for reactions to products.
You need more Permits and applications than you can propably afford. Do you think you can make a lotion for people to put on their body without a Government approval that it is safe or even does what you intend it to do.

Do a little research my dear.
It would be beter to complete with spa needs. Email me to find some. Thank you

Are silicone based hair products harmful in any way? Also, do they wash off well with shampoo?

I read somewhere that silicone can weeken hair shaft if used too often, as the layer of silicone oil prevents hair from ';breathing';. It's confusing. Are silicone based hair products harmful in any way? Also, do they wash off well with shampoo?
They are ok to use, but when washing your hair mix a little baking soda with your shampoo. That will strip your hair of any impurities and the silicone build up on your hair. I took a continuing edu. class once and they told us that products like Thermasilk that contain silicone is not good for your hair, but that it would not damage it beyond anything you could fix with a good moisturizing treatment. Silicone is great if you are using any kind of thermal styling aids ( such as a straightener or curling irons) because it saves the hair from any heat styling damage. So go ahead and use the silicone based products, you will be ok.Are silicone based hair products harmful in any way? Also, do they wash off well with shampoo?
the ONLY THING THAT SILICONE DOES IS COAT THE HAIR...AND NO, THEY DO NOT WASH OFF EASILY...YOU WILL NEED TO BUY A GOOD CLARIFYING SHAMPOO AND WASH YOUR HAIR WITH IT AT LEAST TWICE A WEEK
They aren't harmful, and they make your hair silky and shiny. Like any other product they can cause buildup though, so be sure to use a clarifying shampoo once in awhile. Otherwise your normal shampoo works fine for everyday.
Correct! Pantene products have lots of silicone so that the hair cuticle lays flat while killing it really. I tried it and at first it was heavan touching my hair and then it turned to straw. :-(

I use Herbal Essences hydration (the blue one) shampoo and conditioner. After the shower I DO NOT towel dry, but I wrap a towel around my hair for about 15 - 20 mintues to take out the extra water, then gently use a wide tooth comb to get the knots out. I scrunch some Herbal Essences gel (the purple one for curls), put a small bit of mousee (also the purple HE one), then a tiny bit of Fructis sleek and shine frizz control creme. The gel keeps the waves together, the mousse gives it body, and the creme keeps the frizzies away. Sounds like a lot but it works for me.Best shampoo/conditioner/products for wavy, fine, puffy hair?

my hair gets a little frizzy at the ends.

i get a lot of fly aways (hairs that stick out) near the middle part of my hair (hair between the roots and the ends)Best shampoo/conditioners/hair products for thick long straight black kinda damaged hair?
You definitely don't need to spend a lot of money on a good shampoo. I used to have super damaged hair, and it was also really long. Ever since I started using Neutrogena Triple Moisture Cream Lather Shampoo and Vive Pro Hydra Gloss Moisturizing Conditioner, my hair has never felt or looked better! Plus, it's only about $5 for the shampoo and $4 for the conditioner!

As for another tip, spread the conditioner from roots to tips all over and then twist it into a bun and leave it in for 3 minutes. Rinse it out with cool water, and your hair will be left soft and shiny!

You can find these at any drugstore. I get mine at Super Target.

if you live in california you can go to CVS stores they have buy 1 get second free is bargain it ends sunday so don't delay also it great products to grow your hair fast it cost 5 to 6 bucks at CVS drugstoreHorse and tail shampoo products?!?
You can get it at Walmart. It's only a few dollars, so it's nothing too expensive.

But, warning: I have never used it but I wanted to and I asked a hairstylist and she told me that it sometimes makes humans hair kind of rough and really weird feeling (I can't remember the exact way she described it). My sister has used it and her hair seemed fine, though.

But yeah, it is for humans and horses.

If she really wants to grow out her hair, I would personally recommend Pantene Beautiful Lengths. I have used it now for a few months, and it really protects your hair. Also if she wants she could take vitamins that promote hair growth like Fish Oil, Biotin, and Folic Acid.

    I hope this helps!

    Good luck! :)
Yes its called mane and tails and its used for horses hair and stuff..a guru on youtube called 'ilikeweylie' used it when she got a haircut and said that she noticed a speed in her hair growth and even humans can use it dont worry! you can buy it from walmart in the pets section and also Sallys hair %26amp; beauty supply sell them :) hope i helped!!
It is called ';Mane and Tail';. There is a shampoo and conditioner. I have used it in the past and it does work. People can use it. I have always found it at Rite Aid and sometimes at Walmart.

At Rite Aid, I usually pay about 9 dollars for each the shampoo and conditioner. I am sure it is cheaper at Walmart.

    Good Luck!
It's call Mane and Tail and it is wonderful shampoo and conditioner!

No lol it's not just for horses. It does help you hair be stronger and softer. I get it at Sally's Beauty Supply because it's even cheaper there than it is at walmart, and I hate going to walmart.
You can get it at walmart. and its for humans and horses lol. it cost about 6 or 7 dollars
Here in Texas, I think it's called Mane and Tail. Walmart carries one. you might find it there or try Sally's Beauty supply.

Is Redkin shampoo okay for african american women? Please no silly reponses, their products seem great.?

I would like to try them but afriad their product may strip my perm. Is it possible to deep condition your hair too much? How often are you suppose to deep condition it?Is Redkin shampoo okay for african american women? Please no silly reponses, their products seem great.?
Anything you choose to use is OK, but it's a matter of what is best for your hair.

You can't strip a perm. Impossible. What will be stripped is the outer layers of your hair. The perm won't come off, though. Your hair will become more weakened, and prone to damage.

As for damage control, your perm is already taking a toll on your hair, so the worse thing Redken can do, most likely, is dry your hair out more.

For black hair, you can't deep condition too much, because that's what our hair needs. But I will say this, if you are washing your hair more than once a week, you need to fall back on that. The over drying is going to end up leaving you with more breakage than would normally be the case.

So wash once a week (with no clarifyiers), deep condition once a week/ or hot oil.

    I use Humble...natural products for black/biracial hair.

Some pics on the site listed below. Is Redkin shampoo okay for african american women? Please no silly reponses, their products seem great.?
Redken is fine to use. You can use any shampoo, it doesn't have to be specifically for ethnic hair. Try Redken All Soft shampoo and conditioner, and Redken Heavy Cream deep conditioner (once a week). And yes, it's possible to deep condition it too much if your hair is oily...more than 2 times a week is too much.

Salon quality products are always color/chemical safe.
not sure if that product works or not or what it will do. your suppost to deep condition your hair at least once a monrh or two months. you should really do it once a month. there is a deep conditioner thar is called cholesteral it works great.
no, my sister uses it and we're Asian. i tried it and it didn't do much for me. it is not going to strip your perm, nothing will do that except for hair straightener or if your hair grows out by itself.
Redken Shampoo should be fine on you hair. You might want to get one that is for chemically treated hair though. Shampoos will not strip your perm as long as you've waited 48 hours. There IS such a thing as conditioning too much, so it really depends on the condition of your hair and how much of a 'deep' conditioner you are using.

If you are using a store bought product, it's not likely they're super conditioning. You have to try to get an even amount of protein and moisture in your hair. Some 'deep conditioners' are meant to be used once a week, and some you can use twice a week. Unless your hair is in REALLY bad condition I would stick with once a week. And if it IS in REALLY bad condition you can condition it twice a week for a week or two and then after that I would stick with once a week.

If you get a salon treatment, they can be good for up to a month. We have what are called 'cera-repairs' at our salon and it's not generally recommended to use them more than once a month. Now being as you're African American you may not feel the need to shampoo your hair as often as Caucasian people do, but it depends on the texture of your hair. Some African American women have, as I'm sure you're aware, super kinky hair that only needs to be washed once a month. Some more. If you only shampoo your hair once a month you can probably get away with it every time you shampoo.

As long as you don't shampoo everyday or every other day, You can deep condition it every 3rd shampoo or every 2nd shampoo until your hair is in good condition and then once a month should do the job fine. Good luck and I hoped this helped!

All of the colors smell different but my favorite is the purple.

In my opinion it smells like your hair smells after you leave the salon. [:
